Moses Saquing leads final 18 of RVS CUP Philippine Poker Championship; title and ₱4.2M awaits the champion

The biggest RVS CUP Philippine Poker Championship is nearing its end with just one day left until a champion is crowned. At Day 2, 131 players returned and after ten hours of play, the final 18 was formed. Well known American-Filipino player Moses Saquing, closed the day on a high, bagging up the chip lead of 3,065,000.

Coming final day, Saquing will be a big threat for multiple reasons. In addition to holding the chip lead, Saquing has been tearing up the local felt for several years and has shown no signs of slowing down. One year ago, he became an APT Main Event champion, then in April 2023, he captured a Metro title at the Summer Event.

Other notable players surviving the grueling Day 2 action were Day 1A chip leader Thomas Young, Day 1D chip leader Hernan Jaybee Villa, and highly decorated local pro David Erquiaga.

When the 18 players return, they are all guaranteed a minimum payout of ₱90,000 but of course all eyes will be on the immense ₱4,200,000 (~$75,800) top prize. This is the largest first prize ever generated for this event. The champion will also take home the coveted RVS CUP trophy and 3,600 points towards the Player of the Series Leaderboard.

Final day action gets underway on Monday, November 20 at 2pm. Blinds will increase every 40 minutes. You can watch the final table race via the livestream on Metro fb page and Metro YouTube channel.
