First Metro title of 2023 up for grabs! Philippine Poker Tournament 3M GTD begins today; cards in the air at 3pm

The day has arrived! Welcome to the fourth installment of the Philippine Poker Tournament! This is officially the Metro Card Club‘s first event of the calendar season and it is loaded with a Php 3,000,000 (~$54,900) guarantee. Do you have what it takes to become the first Metro champion of 2023? Come on over and prove it. Cards start flying on Wednesday, January 18 at 3pm (local time). Buy in is Php 6,600 (~$120).

The Metro is the longest running poker room in the Philippines. It is highly praised for its fast action tables, professional dealers, and lucrative festivals. The club is also recognized for nurturing amateurs and turning them into pros. Most of the country’s leading tournament players got their start at the Metro, and for the next several days, expect to see them slug it out at the PPT as they attempt to add another title to their belt. Among the notable players certain to be there is 2022 PPT champion Maxwell Rosete who was already seen at the Pre-Event.

The PPT gets underway today with the first of five entry flights setting the pace. All nationalities are welcome to attend however you must be at least 21 years of age. Registered players start with a 25,000 stack which is 250 times the opening 100-100 blinds. The tournament uses the Ante Big Blind format which means Ante first. Day 1 blinds increase every 30 minutes (Day 1E Turbo increases every 20 minutes) and registration closes at the start of Level 10. At the end of Level 14, the remaining players bag up and advance to Day 2.

Day 1A-Day 1C: January 18 to January 20 @3pm
Day 1D: January 21 @2pm
Day 1E (Turbo): January 21 @7pm

Day 2: January 22 @1pm
Final Day: January 23 @1pm
