Second run of Batang Metro Poker Challenge starts tomorrow!

Three years have quickly gone by since the inaugural Batang Metro Poker Challenge debuted in the country’s largest poker room with a Php 2M (~US$ 35,600) guaranteed prize pool. This time around, its second edition will see an even bigger Main Event to the tune of Php 3,000,000 (~US$ 53,400) in prizes to be awarded. The 2022 Batang Metro Poker Challenge officially kicks off tomorrow, starting with its Php 250K (~US$ 4,450) guaranteed BMPC Pre-event for a modest Php 2,750 (~US$ 49) entry fee along with the Php 1,000 (~US$ 18) buy-in Satellite on schedule.

The exciting BMPC festivities will run through Monday, September 5 at Metro Card Club for a full week of action up ahead. Main Event runners can turn their attention to the first of four qualifying flights beginning on Wednesday, August 31st at 3 p.m. All qualifiers follow 30-minute blind levels and allow multiple re-entries with each posting the listed Php 6,600 (~US$ 117) buy-in. Players who have made it to Day 2 scheduled on Sunday, September 4th, can still jump in the succeeding flights following the Best Stack Forward policy. Day 2 will play through 13 levels or down to two tables whichever comes first.

2019’s BMPC saw defending champion John Francis King capture his first-ever Metro title, championship trophy, and a pocketful Php 540,863 (~US$ 9,627) in top payout after cutting a three-way deal leading up to his victory. A total of 767 entries attended the inaugural series, easily smashing the prize pool by over 50% of its guarantees. This year’s Main Event is accompanied by two side events running alongside Day 2 and the Final Day, for those looking to lock in a trophy last minute.
