2022 APC on track to smash guarantee; Jun Hwang steals the lead; 173 storm Day 1D

A total of 173 stormed Day 1D of the 2022 Asia Poker Championship to bring the total number of entries to 428. With only 500 needed to reach the ambitious Php 20 Million guarantee, the event is on pace to smash it with one final starting day remaining. After twelve levels of scheduled play, another 50 survived, many of them flying the Korean flag. Taking a glance around the room, it was quite easy to spot the chip leader. Korean Mind Game Member (KMGM) Jun Hwang was backed by a fortress amounting to 122 BB. This was more than plenty to surpass Day 1A chip leader Changhwan Lee in the overall chip counts.

Jun Hwang

Also navigating through the day’s challenges were Jessie Leonarez who bagged up the second largest stack to put him within the top ten, as well as PPT champion Maxwell Rosete, David Erquiaga, Emmanuel Segismundo, Christopher Mateo, and Jeorge Lagatuz. Day 1A qualifier Dongmyung Ham successfully bagged up a bigger stack at Day 1D. He is the second double qualifier. Ham’s smaller stack will be removed from play.
