2022 APC: Day 1B draws 101 entries, 26 survive led by Korea’s Taejin Choi; Ronald Morfe wins the KO Bounty

Action picked up at the Metro Card Club with 101 turning up for Day 1B of the Asia Poker Championship Php 20M guaranteed. Among those that chose to enter this heat were well known Filipino players Czardy Rivera, Vamerdino Magsakay, recently crowned APPT Open Manila National NLH champion Alvir Inocentes, and WSOP bracelet champion Mike Takayama. While all four got through the scheduled 12 rounds with very healthy stacks, bagging up the largest arsenal was Korea’s Taejin Choi of 95 BB. This put Choi in second rank overall, just behind Day 1A chip leader Changhwan Lee who holds firm with 105 BB. The event has now drawn 137 entries across two starting days with 36 advancing to Day 2.

Two entry heats now in the books which means there are only three chances left to join the action. If you haven’t qualified yet, that time is now. The event’s jaw dropping Php 20,000,000 (~US$ 378,600) guarantee simply cannot be passed up. To date, it is the single largest tournament prize pool offered in the country this year. All starting days kick off at 11am and bag up at the end of Level 12. Registration closes at the start of Level 9.
