It’s all over! After the ICM deal, it was a fast finish with Bonifacio Mondalo knocking out the last three players. The final hand was Mondalo {ac}{qh}, Ronn Ryan Mesina {as}{10h}, the board ran {7d}{jh}{jd}{6d}{3h}. Mesina earned Php 290,500 (ICM deal) and a satellite seat to APC worth Php 4,400. The champion Mondalo pocketed Php 291,200 (ICM deal) and a seat worth Php 44,000 to the APC.

Joey Pardales limped in from the button, small blind Renniel Galvez shoved, Pardales with the fast call and turned over {ad}{3h}. Galvez had {qs}{jh}. The board dropped {9s}{qh}{5c}{qd}{8c} for trips to Galvez and the exit for Pardales in 5th place. He earned Php 273,500  (ICM deal) and a satellite ticket to the APC worth Php 4,400.

After losing a pot to Mondalo, Hernan Jaybee Villa still had around 500K and went all in with {kd}{jd}. Initial raiser Christopher Mateo snap called with {ah}{ks}. When the flop ran {js}{7s}{8s}, Villa improved to a pair, but with the turn {5s} Mateo overtook with a commanding flush and Villa was drawing dead. Villa was eliminated in 6th place for Php 67,500 and a satellite seat to the Asian Poker Championship worth Php 4,400.

Action folded to the small blind Joey Pardales who raised to 110k, big blind Renniel Galvez defended. At the flop {3d}{ad}{3s}, both players checked. On the turn {js}, Pardales led for 150k, Galvez called. On the river {as}, both checked. Pardales turned over {qs}{7c} queen high, Galvez won the pot with {jd}{10h} higher two pair. Pardales sits with 1.4M, Galvez rises to 1.2M.

Here’s a look at chip leader Christopher Mateo at the final table. He won a hand on a three-bet against Joey Pardales and Renniel Galvez, lost 110k to Bonifacio Mondalo, lost a larger 300k three-bet to Hernan Jaybee Villa who four-bet shoved preflop, then recently won a pot against Pardales. From utg+1 Mateo raised to 110k, Pardales defended on the big blind. At the flop {9h}{6c}{4h}, no bets fired. On the turn {9s}, Pardales check-called a 100k bet. On the river {2d}, Mateo sent out 160k, Pardales tank-folded. Mateo is just about where he started the final table at 2.3M+.

15:40: Hernan Jaybee Villa loses pot and 3-hand penalty

Utg player Joey Pardales min-raised, action folded around to the small blind Bonifacio Mondalo who folded but before doing so, big blind Hernan Jaybee Villa acted out of turn and called the raise. Mondalo folded, the board ran {7h}{10d}{kd}{5c}{10c}, Pardales bet the river 120k, Villa folded. Pardales won the pot and Villa was given a three-hand penalty.

On the 13th final table hand, Ericson Ebilane bumped the rail on a semi bluff against Ronn Ryan Mesina. Action opened with a min-raise by  utg+1 Ebilane, big blind Mesina defended. At the flop {10s}{4d}{6s}, Mesina checked, Ebilane shoved his remaining 182k, Mesina tank-called. Ebilane had {kd}{jc} king high, Mesina {ad}{6c} mid pair, the turn {9s} and river {2s} completed the board. Ebilane out in 8th place for Php 42,500. Action has slowed significantly. After one orbit with no action, Ellezer Castillo three-bet shoved (170k) and initial raiser Christopher Mateo called. Castillo won it for a double up to 425k. Castillo had {qc}{qs}, Mateo {9h}{8h}, the board was {4h}{kc}{6d}{kd}{qd} for a full house to Castillo.

Earlier, John Clyde Tan paid a costly double up to Renniel Galvez who got lucky with a lower pair spiking a set. Hands later, Tan got lucky as well with his {qh}{2h} landing a straight to survive Leonarez’s {as}{kc} on a board {ad}{jd}{4h}{3h}{5d}. However, on Tan’s next shove, his {kh}{qh} was outdrawn by Joey Pardales’ {ks}{jc} with the board running {3d}{jh}{8d}{kd}{9h}. Tan finished 10th for Php 35,000.

13:45: Cristopher Runas ladders up and out in 11th place – Php 35,000

Cristopher Runas entered the day in the middle of the pack but couldn’t beef up his stack any further. After losing several small pots, he was all in for his remaining 109k and {ah}{8s} hole cards, massive chip leader Christopher Mateo called with a dominating {ad}{qc}. The board ran {5s}{qh}{2c}{6d}{10c}. Runas laddered up one pay jump to earn Php 35,000 for 11th place.

13:40: Jessie Leonarez crippled then out in 12th place – Php 30,000

On a raised pot preflop, the board spread {2h}{ks}{ah}, big blind Jessie Leonarez shoved his 311k stack, cutoff Joey Pardales tanked then risked his 300k stack. Leonarez had {3c}{5s} gutshot, Pardales ahead with {ac}{8c}, the turn {jh} and river {kd} didn’t save Leonarez from having to pay up. On the next hand, Leonarez was all in with {ks}{2d} and fell to Ellezer Castillo’s {as}{5s} ace on the board. He earned Php 30,000 for his deep run.

13:30: Bonifacio Mondalo’s kings cracked

Pocket Kings may have helped Bonifacio Mondalo rail Dek Cruz but the next time around, the cowboys didn’t do the job. All in preflop, Mondalo {kd}{kh}, Renniel Galvez {ah}{5h}, the board ran {6d}{7d}{3h}{as}{5c}. Mondalo paid 570k to Galvez and dropped to around 800k. Galvez increased to 1.14M.

13:25: Bell John Perez outdrawn in 13th place – Php 30,000

Next casualty of the day was Bell John Perez who was all in with {ad}{qc} only to get outdrawn by Ericson Ebilane’s {ac}{jh} on a board of {ah}{js}{8s}{6c}{ks}. He finished 13th for Php 30,000.

13:20: Dek Cruz busts in 14th place – Php 30,000

All in preflop with Bonifacio Mondalo at risk holding {kc}{ks}, Cruz all in with {ah}{kd}, the board ran dry to sen Cruz out early in 14th place. He earned Php 30,000 for his finish. Mondalo up to 1.32M. 13 players remaining.

13:15: Christopher Mateo scores a big one with set of ducks

Christopher Mateo has jumped to a massive lead with over 2.2M after winning a big pot against Dek Cruz. On a raised pot preflop that saw sb Mateo three-bet to 107k, button Cruz called, the flop came {8s}{2c}{3h}. Mateo c-bet 80k, Cruz called. On the turn {10d} another 150k fired by Mateo and Cruz called. The river {5c}, Mateo banged out a huge 400k, Cruz tank-called. Mateo opened {2s}{2h} set, Cruz mucked. Mateo soared to over 2.2M, Cruz down to 575k.

13:10: Lucky two outer boosts Renniel Galvez

It seemed like the end of the line for Renniel Galvez when he pushed his remaining 240k with {7h}{7d} and faced John Clyde Tan’s {jd}{jc}. However, when the flop ran {10h}{7c}{9d}, Galvez spiked the much needed two-outer, and with the turn {5h} and river {3h}, it was a double up to over 500K. The bad beat send Tan plunging to 78k.

After five days of competition, the Metro Summer Event 2022 is down to its final day. The event kicked off on April 20 with 533 entries across four starting days for a smashing prize pool of Php 2,470,000. The field is down to 16 players and they will battle it out today for the title and Php 677,500 first prize cash. In addition, the champion will receive a seat to the Asian Poker Championship worth Php 44,000. We will track the action to the finish, so stay informed via our Live Updates right here on this page. The pack will be led in by Dek Cruz who bagged the biggest stack in Day 2 of 1,006,000 (50 BB), he is trailed closely by Christopher Mateo with 995,000 (49 BB).
