Japan’s John Matsuda dominates Metro Summer Event Day 1A; 13 players advance

The Metro Summer Event 1.5 Million guaranteed kicked off with 85 entrants taking the earliest flight to try to qualify. After 9.5 hours of play, Japan’s John Matsuda topped the 13 survivors and set the bar very high for the next heat. He bagged up a staggering 367,400 amounting to 92 BB or 24.5 starting stacks. Other notables making it through were Metro regular Renniel Galvez who racked up the second largest stack of 44 BB and Cristopher Runas who was at the foot of the pole with just 6 BB. Runas can attempt for multiple stacks however only his best moves forward.

The survivors have a three day break before returning for Day 2 on Sunday, April 24. Just a reminder, Day 2 game time is earlier. Cards in the air at 12pm. This is followed by the Final Day on Monday, April 25 also at 12pm. The final two tables will see blinds increase every 40 minutes. You can track the final day action via our live updates.

Next up is MSE Day 1B on Thursday, April 21 at 3pm. We suggest getting on the felt early to start off  with a 150 BB stack. Blinds increase every 30 minutes, registration closes at 8pm daily.
