After Main Event Day 1A pulled in 206 entries to the inaugural Asian Poker Championship, it was certain the Php 5 million guarantee would be dusted with two more entry heats to follow. That was quite the understatement with another rush of players lighting up the Metro Card Club. In the aftermath, Day 1B pulled in a huge 215 entries and Day 1C Turbo flight fielded in another 120. This brought the overall Main Event entries to 541 for a prize pool just shy of Php 10.5 million.

Here’s a look at the numbers:

Day 1A: 35 advanced out of 206 entries
Day 1B: 35 advanced out of 215 entries
Day 1C: 32 advanced out of 120 entries

Total entries: 541
Day 2 qualifiers: 102 players
Chips in play: 8,115,000
Day 2 average stack: 79,558
Opening blinds: 1500 – 3000 ante 3000

Buy-in: Php 22,000 (~US$ 430)
Prize pool: Php 10,495,400 (~US$ 205,700)
ITM: 54 players

Day 2 gets underway at 12pm on Sunday, February 2. The 102 qualifiers will play either 12 levels or down to the final two tables, whichever is first reached. The pack will be led in by top dog Seung Min Kang who bagged up an enormous 269,800 at Day 1B. That’s 90 times the opening big blind.

Other players advancing with the leader to Day 2 via Day 1B were Red Dragon champion Florencio Campomanes, PSPC finalist Marc Rivera, two-time APT Main Event champion Lester Edoc, RVS Cup 2019 Player of the Series winner Emmanuel Segismundo, and RVS Cup 2017 champion Christopher Chua. 13 KMGM players also made the cut.

At the Day 1C turbo flight, it was Christopher Mateo aka Bigtime who sat up top with 151,200. That placed him 8th overall. Also making it through were 15 KMGM players, WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama, David Erquiaga, and JC Sayo.
