Asian Poker Championship: Main Event Day 1A draws a thunderous 206 entries; Joven Huerto tops the 34 survivors

Pros, recs, newbies, and enthusiasts came flooding the Metro Card Club for opening day of the inaugural Asian Poker Championship. Drawing everyone in was none other than Day 1A of the Main Event featuring a Php 5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. At the close of registration, the tally was 206 entries, and with each one paying the Php 22,000 buy-in, it amassed over Php 4 million! Up next are two more starting heats which means the pot is going to balloon further and is well on its way to smashing the guarantee.

So for all you weekend warriors, fence-sitters, late-comers, shorts stacks, and players that missed the mark in Day 1A, no need to debate. Head on over to the Metro for the hottest and juiciest game in town. This is one event that must not be missed. Here are all the details:

Out of the 206 that thundered in for Day 1A, only 34 survived. RVS Cup 2018 Player of the Series champion Joven Huerto ruled the counts. His 186,600 stack is what players in the next starting heats have to measure up to.

Advancing with the leader are Metro Team Pros: John Tech, Czardy Rivera, Joseph Sia, and Jimmie Javier. A strong lineup of KMGM (Korean Mind Game Members) players also pulled through including famous Korean comedian Kim Hak Do. All Day 2 qualifiers have a day break before returning on Sunday, February 2 at 12pm.
