RVS CUP 2019: Jacque Ramsden under the spotlight again, tops Main Event Day 1B; Renato Villanueva wins the Big Bounty

Thursday madness at the RVS CUP Philippine Poker Championship dragged in a slightly larger field than yesterday with 121 runners pouring in the Metro Card Club for Main Event Day 1B. This brought the total entries to 228 which will further grow with two more starting days to follow.

After 15 rounds of play, the field trimmed down to just 24 players. Amassing the largest stack at bagging time was USA’s Jacque Ramsden, winner of the Pre-Event 600k tournament. He currently leads the RVS CUP Player of the Series race. Ramsden collected 172,000 in chips putting him in fourth rank among the combined Day 1 qualifiers. Day 1A chip leader Emmanuel Segismundo is currently the frontrunner.

Also making the cut in this flight were George S. (Mixed Game winner), Batang Metro champion John Francis King, Metro 750k champion William Ysmael, and rising player Rodrigo Sequite.

Renato Villanueva topped the 95 entries of the Big Bounty event. In addition to his cash winnings, he earned 1,440 points towards the RVS CUP 2019 Player of the Series race. With points also earned at the Power Button tournament, he moved up to third rank in the standings.
