RAYMOND GOMEZ LEADS THE FINAL 18 PLAYERS OF THE MSE MAIN EVENT

From 652 entrants we are now down to the final 18 players of the Metro Summer Event – Main Event. Day 2 saw 106 players return to races each one hoping to reach the money and further advance into the final day. It was action-packed from the get-go with players falling and players racking it up. The day closed in just under seven hours. Two players crossed the seven-digit marker with Raymond Gomez in the lead. Gomez sealed up 1,144,000 in chips.

Not too far behind the leader was Rey Osete with 1,019,000. Among the pack that also survived the day’s heat were notable players Kai Paulsen and the starting days overall chip leader Geno Gendrano.

By the look of the seat draw, final day chip leader Gomez will be facing some tough competition with Osete and Gendrano both at his table. It will be interesting to see how these players match up. We will have live updates for you to keep you abreast of the action.

Although there were many disappointed players in Day 2, some of them didn’t have to walk away dry in the pocket. Cashing in portions of the P3,912,000 (~US$75,600) prize pool were Vamerdino Magsakay (20th), Day 1B leader Marvin Cerbito (24th), Michael De Leon (32nd), and Lloyd Fontillas (39th).

Among the pros, Euryd Rivera finished 26th, PPPoker World Championships winner Richard Marquez took 27th, and MSE defending champion Joseph Sia bowed out in 47th place.

The final day gets underway at 1pm on Monday, April 15 at the Metro Card Club. Come on over and watch the Main Event unfold as one of these 18 players will be crowned the next Metro 2019 champion.
