PHILIPPINE POKER TOURNAMENT – 2 MILLION GUARANTEED – STARTS TODAY

Welcome to the Metro Card Club’s first event of the calendar year – the Philippine Poker Tournament featuring a 2 Million Guaranteed Main Event! Every year the Metro hosts several of these events extending big guarantees at a very affordable price. For this main feature, the buy-in is only P4,500 (~US$86) with unlimited re-entries. The guaranteed pot is P2,000,000 (~US$38,000).

For those new to the Metro, it is the most popular standalone poker room in the Philippines and it is easily the largest with over 30 tables. As the longest running room in the country, players can expect professional dealers and fast action tables. During the festivals, the room is usually jam-packed. Players from all over the archipelago come to attend, each one hoping to bag that top cash and be crowned a Metro champion. 

This year’s opening event will surely be a special one with the first PPT Main Event title of 2019 up for grabs. Action gets underway this afternoon. The Big Blind Ante system will be utilized. Top 10% get paid. Here’s a breakdown of the schedule: 

Day 1A – Wednesday, January 30

Day 1B – Thursday, January 31

Day 1C – Friday, February 1

Day 1D – Saturday, February 2

All starting days will kick off promptly at 3 pm. It will run a course of 15 levels before bagging up. Levels increase every 30 minutes. Starting stack is 15,000 with opening blinds at 25-50. For latecomers, registration closes at the start of Level 10 with blinds at 400-800 ante 800. 

Starting day survivors advance to Day 2 on Sunday, February 3. Keep in mind that Day 2 and the Final Day will begin at 1 pm. Blinds increase every 40 minutes for Day 2 then will increase every 60 minutes during the Final Table. 

Day 2 – play 12 rounds or down to the final two tables (whichever is reached first)

Final Day – Monday, February 4

*Important note: Once the final two tables are reached, the Big Blind Ante system will be replaced with the Regular Ante (per player ante) system. Make sure you review the structure for more clarity.
