Welcome to Day 2 of the Metro Summer Event Main Event! After four starting days, a smashing 652 pumped up poker warriors came for the challenge. With each buyin at P6,500, this more than eclipsed the guarantee. For the 106 players that secured seats to Day 2, they are now looking at a much richer pot of P3,912,000 (~US$75,600) of which only 65 will get a share.  Let’s take a look at the numbers in detail:

Day 1A: Wednesday, April 10 – 17 advanced out of 137 entries

Day 1B: Thursday, April 11 – 17 advanced out of 89 entries

Day 1C: Friday, April 12 – 20 advanced out of 130 entries

Day 1D: Saturday, April 13 – 52 advanced out of 296 entries

Holding lead position into today’s round is Geno Gendrano. He set the bar very high at Day 1A which no one could crack. Gendrano is the only player in the zone of 300k. He enters with 323,100 in chips.

Day 2 gets underway at 1pm. They play down to the final two tables. Money flows starting at 65th place.

Day 1D packs in a monstrous 296 entries

Keeping true to tradition, the last starting day drew a wall to wall field of 296 entries. Players bumped elbows all day attempting to bag up a sizable stack for Day 2. In the aftermath, only 52 achieved with MSE defending champion Joseph Sia among them. Sia qualified with 79,800 which was over double his Day 1A result.

Other notable players advancing were Kai Paulsen, Dave Erquiaga, Luke Pangan, Lloyd Fontillas, Alexis Lim, Michael De Leon, and RVS 2018 POS champion Joven Huerto. Besting them all was Joseph Reyes with a closing day stack of 236,900. This was enough to steal second rank entering Day 2.

Also finishing strong were Vamerdino Magsakay (220,000) and Jae Yi Chang (216,900). They both usurped decorated champion Richard Marquez in the Day 2 ranking.
