CARLOS MONTON IN TOP FORM AT DAY 1B + CHIP COUNTS + DAY 1C TODAY AT 3PM

CARLOS MONTON IN TOP FORM AT DAY 1B + CHIP COUNTS + DAY 1C TODAY AT 3PM

Another starting day concluded at the Philippine Poker Tournament 2M GTD Main Event and dusting the competition was Carlos Butch “Trashman” Monton with his kingly performance. Monton bagged the chip lead, sealing a bulging 226,800 stack.

Monton is a familiar face at the Metro Card Club but what many may not know, his hunger for a Metro championship title is unchallengeable. He made the final table of last year’s 2M event and with his brawny stack, he has all the ammunition to take it to the finish line.

Day 1B drew 89 entrants with 13 advancing to Day 2. Among them was decorated Metro champion William Ysmael with a stack of 30,600.

Day 1B chip counts

1 Carlos Butch “Trashman” Monton – 226,800
2 Ron Alvin Rivera – 182,500
3 Christian John Fernando – 159,900
4 Riener Magbutay – 128,300
5 Ellezer Castillo – 123,400
6 Christopher Chua – 120,200
7 Anthony Ragaza – 92,400
8 Hernan Jaybee Villa – 80,800
9 Norman Jionel Pring – 72,000
10 Dean Belleza – 41,400
11 John Jay Magadan – 40,800
12 Dennis Ching – 36,000
13 William Ysmael – 30,600

Day 1B survivors will join the Day 1A qualifiers into Day 2 on Sunday, February 3. A total of 21 players advanced out of the 149 total entries. If you’re not in that list, no fret, there are two more starting days to secure your spot and be in contention for that first Metro title of 2019.

Day 1C today

It’s friday! You know what that means… time to hit the felt for all you weekend warriors! Day 1C gets underway at 3pm. Buy-in is P4,500. Bonifacio Mondalo is still the player to measure up to with his 273,075 stack. Here’s a rundown of what you need to know:

Starting stack: 15,000Opening blinds: 25-50
Level duration: 30 minute intervals
Late registration: closes at the start of Level 10 (blinds 400-800 ante 800)
Regulation time: bagging at the end of Level 15

*The Big Blind Ante system is in effect.

Once we reach Day 2, players get to see more hands per round with blinds increasing every 40 minutes. Day 2  will play a total of 12 rounds or to the final two tables whichever is reached first. Once that decreases to just one final table of 10 players, the blinds will once again be padded to 60 minutes per round.

*Important note: The Big Blind Ante system will be replaced by the Regular Ante (per player) system at the final two tables. See structure below:
