17 Nov RVS Cup: Michael Manlapaz Maintains Course For Main Event Title With 18 Remaining; John Tech, Marvin Cerbito Win Trophies
The 2025 RVS Cup Philippine Poker Championship Main Event resumed this Sunday, November 16, with 103 players out of the 749 that entered returning to the Metro Card Club for Day 2. With everyone already in the money, it was a race to reach one of the final day seats.
Michael Manlapaz Leads RVS Cup Final 18 Players
Leading the way was overnight chip leader Michael Manlapaz who amassed his stack at Day 1F. To prove it wasn’t a fluke, Manlapaz maintained course all day, and by night’s end, he had secured the top spot once again, bagging a towering 2,450,000 (61 big blinds). He was the only player that breached the 2M mark.

Finishing the day ranked second-in-chips was Marvin Cerbito who has accumulated a long list of deep runs at Metro major events, including a victory at the 2023 Batang Metro Poker Challenge. Cerbito is running hot at the RVS Cup with a stack of 1,780,000 (44 big blinds). After bagging, he proceeded to win the Survivor Knockout.
Also locking up one of the final 18 slots were RVS Cup champions Anacleto Quijano (2016) and Jeffrey Calma (2019), both with decent stacks as well as they hunt for a second title.
Not so fortunate was the only two-time RVS Cup champion Lester Edoc who was unable to defend his title. Edoc was knocked out in 88th place. Other champions falling by the wayside were Edilberto Gopez in 76th place and Richard Marquez in 43rd place.
