RVS Cup Main Event 10M GTD Begins Today; GOP Arena Event Day 2 Underway With Michael Bueza Leading

After five days of pre-games, the spotlight now shifts to the highly anticipated 2025 RVS Cup Philippine Poker Championship (Main Event). Now entering its 11th year, the RVS Cup stands as the Metro Card Club’s marquee annual tournament – the most coveted title on its calendar and the ultimate badge of prestige for club champions.

RVS Cup Main Event

This year’s RVS Cup Main Event is backed by a ₱10 Million guarantee. To have a chance at the prize pool, the Metro has scheduled six entry flights with buy-in at ₱15,000 (~$ 250).

Structure And Important Info

For players interested in entering today’s opening flight, it begins at 3pm with registration closing at the start of Level 11, at around 8:30pm. Everyone receives a 25,000 starting stack (250 times the opening blinds). Blinds increase every 30 minutes.

Time-banks will be in play from the start of each flight. Each player will receive two time-extension chips and one additional at every break. Players bag their chips once the field reaches ITM (14% of entries).

RVS Cup Main Event structure

For those looking to enter at a fraction of the cost, there is only one Main Event Satellite left, running on November 14. Players need only accumulate 50K in chips to secure a seat. Buy-in is ₱3,300 (~$55).

RVS Cup Through The Years

A brief look back at the RVS Cup’s beginnings, it was first introduced in 2014 attracting 282 Main Event runners. That number has increased every year after with 2017 drawing the largest crowd of 1,176 entries followed by 1,080 entries in 2023. Last year,  899 signed on and history was made with Lester Edoc (pictured below) becoming the first two-time RVS Cup Main Event champion.

This year, you can expect the field to be loaded with locals once again, including Edoc who will set out for a third title. International players will also be at the tables which has seen an uptick in numbers within the past few years.

Running alongside today’s main feature is Day 2 of the Gods of Poker ₱2 Million Guaranteed Arena Event. The past two days drew 628 total entries to blast past the guarantee and build a sweeter ₱3,140,000 (~$53,225) prize pool.

The field is now down to 83 players, all of whom have locked up minimum payout of ₱10,000. Up top, the eventual champion will not only take home the lion’s share amounting to ₱346,900 but will also be awarded the Gods of Poker Main Event package worth US$ 3,000. The package includes the following:

  • 1 Main Event Ticket to Eden Awakens – Jeju (US$ 1,400 value)
  • 5-Night Stay at Jeju Shinhwa World Resort (US$ 600 value)
  • US$ 1,000 cash equivalent to account for travel expenses, converted to KRW and disbursed upon claiming the seat on-site.
