2025 Batang Metro: Lito Quijano Leads 92 Into Day 2; High Roller 1M GTD Today

After five entry flights, the 2025 Batang Metro Poker Challenge has advanced to Day 2 with 92 survivors returning to the Metro Card Club. Yesterday’s final two flights added 321 entries to the tally, bringing the total field to 648. This comfortably surpassed the guarantee, building a prize pool of ₱6,480,000. All players returning today are assured at least ₱20,000 – double their buy-in – while the eventual champion is set to claim the only seven-figure payout of ₱1,043,300.

Leading the charge is 2016 RVS Cup champion Lito Quijano (pictured above), who dominated the last flight to bag 649,000 in chips (62 big blinds), securing the overall chip lead heading into Day 2. Quijano was the only player able to unseat Day 1A leader Albien Pedrosa, who returns second in command with a strong 586,000 stack (146 big blinds). Rounding out the top three is Day 1D leader John Niko Costiniano, who advanced with 445,000 (111 big blinds).

Today’s entering blinds are 2000-4000 ante 4000 with average stack of 176,086 (44 big blinds). A total of 38 entering players are above average and 80 players with stacks from 20 bigs and up. This means it’s pretty much anyone’s game!
