2022 Batang Metro Champion Lester Edoc Takes The Helm At Main Event Day 1C

Saturday action at the Metro Card Club was buzzing as Day 1C of the Batang Metro Poker Challenge Main Event welcomed 128 entries to push the cumulative tally to 327. Among those spotted in action were a roll call of accomplished locals, and of course our very own Metro Team Pros. The day closed with a new batch of ITM survivors bagging chips for Sunday’s continuation, joining the 21 advancing players from earlier heats.

Lester Edoc - 2025 Batang Metro Day 1C leader

Among those finding success were Czardy Rivera, Richard Marquez, Jose Colada, Alvir Inocentes, and at the helm was local star Lester Edoc. This is not the first time we’ve seen Edoc at the top of the counts at the a Metro homegrown event. For those who may not know, Edoc won this very event in 2022 (which is why he is on the poster). He is also the only two-time RVS Cup champion. Edoc bagged up 334,000 in chips placing him currently 4th in the overall Day 2 list with two more flights yet to complete.

While there were ups there were downs as well. Falling by the wayside were several notables namely Marc Rivera, Lemmor Patulot, Alexis Lim, Christopher Chua, and Joven Huerto. Luckily, they still have two more chances to get back in with Day 1D and Day 1E both taking place on Saturday, October 4.

2025 Batang Metro trophy

If you are just hearing of this event, the BMPC was first introduced in 2019 with the first two editions claimed by American pro John Francis King and local pro Lester Edoc. In 2023, local aspirant Marvin Cerbito won it for his first major Metro title followed by Mark Jerick Almusajin in 2024. Envied by all, Almusajin flipped his ₱15K buy-in into a jaw dropping ₱1.53 Million payday.

The series is now in search of its next breakout champion and it could be you!
