11 Oct Francisco Cruz Tops APT Challenge Day 1B; Tobias Fabech Wins Power Button
Another day of heated play at the Metro Card Club with the APT Challenge 5M Guaranteed bringing in 74 entries for Day 1B. Many decorated local players were seen in action among them were Asian Poker Tour champions Lester Edoc and Czardy Rivera, both made the cut into the ITM round. The day ended with 11 players led by Francisco Cruz with 348,000. This currently places Cruz in second rank in the overall Day 2 counts.

APT Challenge 5M GTD
The APT Challenge 5M Guaranteed got rolling on October 9 and will run through October 12. This is followed by Day 2 (October 13) and the Final Day on October 14.
With two flights completed out of the six on schedule, the APT Challenge has now drawn 123 entries with 17 players guaranteed a piece of the PHP 5 Million guaranteed prize pool. The qualifiers are also another step closer to winning a seat worth PHP 85,000 to the APT Manila Main Event.
A total of five APT Main Event tickets will be given away at the Metro-APT Challenge. The first one has already been claimed by Metro Team Pro Marc Rivera at the APT Challenge Opener. Apart from the APT Challenge 5M guaranteed that awards three seats – 1st, 2nd, 3rd – one ticket will also be given to the Single Day High Roller champion.
Up next is Day 1C (30 minute blinds) and Day 1D (20 minute blinds), running on Friday, October 11, 2024 starting at 1pm and 7pm. Buy in is PHP 10,000 (~US$ 175).
Tobias Fabech Wins Power Button
Tobias Fabech emerged victorious at the Power Button side event, outlasting the 78 entry field, to lock up PHP 79,418 and an APT trophy. In addition, Fabech was awarded an APT Manila Main Event satellite ticket worth PHP 9,000.
