19 Jun Metro Walk To A Million – Final 18 players to hunt the ₱1.2M top prize; Marlon Laxamana leads the pack
From 1,656 entries, to 199 Day 2 players, the record breaking Metro Walk To A Million has trimmed to the final 18 players! Leading the pack is a new face in the crowd, Marlon Laxamana, who raced from the middle of the Day 2 pack to heat leader. Laxamana bagged up a 47 bb stack.
Right at the leader’s heels was Dolyen Docena with a 45 bb stack, and to round out the top three was Gary Serafin with a 42 bb stack.
Other players staying consistent were Day 1A chip leader Michael Concepcion who racked up a healthy 40 bb stack, Day 1C chip leader Janno Alvarez with a 24 bb stack, and just making it through was Day 1F chip leader George Salud with 4 bb.
All of the returning players are now guaranteed ₱20,800 but what they will be aiming for is to be a millionaire with the top prize sitting at ₱1,283,000.
MWAM review
The MWAM attracted a massive 1,656 entries across six entry flights to send the prize pool skyrocketing to ₱5,140,000 (~USD 92,150). This was the largest ever MWAM since its inception. Due to this, for the first time the event will see a jaw dropping seven figure payout awarded to the champion. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the remaining payout breakdown.
The money flowed in Day 2 with 199 players hard on the hunt. We will have the payouts posted once it has been made available. The final day gets underway on Monday, June 19 starting at 2pm.
