MSE ₱3.5M roars in with 223 Day 1A entries, Nino Mercado bags big; Sean Manalon, Jeremy Catalig win trophies

The Metro Card Club roared all day as players poured in for the highly anticipated Metro Summer Event PH 3.5 Million guaranteed. At the end of nine levels, 223 ponied up the PH 7,000 buy in making it the largest Day 1A field ever seen for this series.

Among the contenders were some familiar faces with many advancing: 2019 MSE champion Joseph Sia, Joseph Talamayan, Jonald Garcia, Junnie Pamplona, and the country’s most decorated champion Mike Takayama.

Nino Mercado

Ultimately, it was Nino Mercado who stole the show, amassing 343,000, roughly 86 big blinds. Mercado will be the one to watch when the survivors return on Sunday, April 23 for the next stage of the race.

With Day 1A pulling in a huge crowd, players can expect the guarantee to be breached in no time. To get in the action, there are four entry flights left. Players that have already qualified for Day 2 but wish to attempt for a larger stack will be happy to know that multiple re-entries is allowed however only your best stack moves forward.

  • Registration and multiple re-entry are allowed before the start of Level 10
  • Starting stack 25,000
  • Day 1A – Day 1D blinds increase every 30 minutes, Day 1E (Turbo) blinds increase every 20 minutes
  • All Day 1 heats will play to the end of level 14
  • Up until the final table, Ante will come from the Big Blind; ante first
  • Day 2 blinds increase every 30 minutes
  • Day 2 will play to the end of Level 27 or down to 2 tables whichever is first reached
  • Final Day – Redraw of seats and blinds increase every 40 minutes
  • There will be a 30 Big Blind ratio to average stack roll back on Day 2 and at the Final table
  • Final table will be 9 handed and will post regular ante.
  • Players must bring a valid ID for Registration, Day 2, Final Day and claiming their prize.
