Metro Walk To A Million – 2 MILLION GUARANTEED – June 29 to July 3; Pre-Event tomorrow!

Just two weeks since the Metro Card Club awarded distinguished local pro Mike Takayama the Asian Poker Championship title, the country’s most popular card room is set to stage its next big tournament and it is happening in two days time! Running from June 29 to July 3 is the Metro Walk To A Million featuring a 2 MILLION GUARANTEED prize pool. Buy in for the event is a very affordable Php 5,500 with four starting days to kick off the festivities.

For those new to the Metro Card Club, it is the longest standing poker room in the Philippines. It is home to many of the country’s elite players such as Mike Takayama – the first Filipino WSOP bracelet champion, cash game specialist Marc Rivera who placed 3rd at the 2019 PCA PokerStars Players Championship, and Lester Edoc – two time APT champion to mention a few. It is also the room where many have gotten their start and further blossomed in their poker careers. The next Metro champion could be you so come on over and claim the stage!

Day 1A: Wednesday, June 29
Day 1B: Thursday, June 30
Day 1C: Friday, July 1
Day 1D: Saturday, July 2

All starting days will see cards flying at 3pm.  Starting stack is 15,000 with opening blinds at 50-100. Blinds increase every 30 minutes. For those getting to the venue after working hours, there’s plenty of time to join the action with registration closing at the start of Level 10, which is approximately 7:50pm. From there, Day 1 plays until the end of Level 14. Remaining players bag up and return on Sunday, July 3 for Day 2. As a tip, the best time to secure your seat is during the early flights with less players to navigate. For players looking to enter for cheap, there is a SATELLITE on Tuesday, June 28 at 6pm. Buy in is Php 1,000.

Day 2 qualifiers will see cards in the air at 1pm. Players with multiple stacks will see their smaller stack removed. Another 13 levels will be played or down to the final two tables, whichever is first reached. Day 3 / Final Day is on Monday, July 4 at 1pm.

Pre-Event 250K GTD on June 28

To hone those skills before the big game, there is a Pre-Event scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28 starting at 2pm. Buy in is Php 2,750. For the first 9 levels blinds increase every 20 minutes. Once registration closes, it picks up pace with blind intervals at 15 minutes. Once the final table is reached, it resumes it 20 minute pace. Starting stack is 10,000. Unlimited rebuy and re-entry allowed with one add on.

Side Events

For those that miss the mark on the 2M GTD event, the last two days of festivities will keep you busy with side events to conquer. On Sunday, July 3 is the Bounty Tournament with buy in of just Php 2,000 (Php 500 goes to the Bounty pool), and on Monday is the NLHE featuring a Php 100K guarantee. Buy in is just Php 1,000. Cards in the air at 5pm for both events.
