11 Jun 2022 APC: Mike Takayama leads Final 8 with over 4 million in chips, Battle resumes tomorrow for the title and Php 6,000,000 top prize
Six hours of gameplay was all it took to end Day 3 with the final eight players remaining in contention for the second APC title and Php 6,000,000 (~US$ 113,230) top prize. Leading the pack is Metro’s own Team Pro member and sole Philippine bracelet winner Mike Takayama with over 4.3 million in chips.
Takayama has been running hot this season, coming up fresh from from a runner-up finish in last week’s Asia Pacific Tour Main Event. The last two tables saw Takayama racked up among the top runners as he cruised his way to the chip lead as the day’s end drew near. Takayama remains to be the only runner to reach the 4 million mark, having scored two eliminations: Chang Kwon Seo (11th), and Lee Seok Young (12th) on the last level of the day.

The final eight boasts a number of highly decorated players including APT champion Moe Jiggy, and RVS champion Richard Marquez. Day 2’s chip leader Clyde Troy Morales also continues on to the final table gameplay, sitting with a little over 2 million in chips. Day 2’s second runner in chips Ronn Ryan Mesina has likewise made it through after sending final table bubble Maxwell Rosete to the rails with pocket Kings to cap the day. The remaining players are now guaranteed a minimum payout of Php 400,000 with a whopping Php 6,000,000 up top for the champion.
