Maxwell Rosete crowned champion! – Php 395,048 + APC seat

After roughly seven hours of play, 2022 PPT Main Event champion Maxwell Rosete claimed the first place prize and biggest ICM payout amounting to Php 395,048 in total winnings including an APC seat for this coming June.

 

19:34: Renato Villanueva Jr finishes in 2nd place – Php, 266,582 + APC seat

Level 30: 35K-70K ante 10K

Facing an all-in from Rosete, Villanueva called off with his remaining chips with {6d}{3h}. Rosete showed {ah}{qd}, way ahead of Villanueva’s holdings. The board ran {qs}{5c}{7s}{5d}{kc} and Villanueva headed for the exit in 2nd place, bagging Php 266,582 + APC seat in prizes.

Moving all-in with less than ten big blinds, Maxwell Rosete called with pocket sevens but lost to Villanueva’s {kh}{8d} as the board ran {jh}{3d}{6d}{kd}{js}.

 

19:29: Maxwell Rosete scoops up crucial double up 

Level 30: 35K-70K ante 10K

Having opened to 170k, Rosete called off Renato Villanueva Jr. all-in with {9h}{9d}. Villanueva showed {ac}{kd} with the race favoring Rosete’s pocket nines when the board came {6d}{3d}{jh}{jc}{8s}. Villanueva dropped down to 500k in chips.

 

19:03: Emmanuel Segismundo secures 3rd place finish – Php 251,216 + Satty

Level 29: 30K-60K ante 10K

Folded to Segismundo in the small blind, the initial final table chip leader went all-in with his short stack and was immediately called by Renato Villanueva Jr. in the big blind with {ks}{4c}. While ahead with {ah}{2d}, the board ran {3s}{jd}{5h}{kh}{jc}, awarding Villanueva the pot with two-pair Kings-Jacks. Segismundo settled for third place and Php 251,216 + Satty in winnings.

 

18:54: Julian Tolentino busts out to Renato Villanueva Jr. – Php 339,804 + Satty

Level 29: 30K-60K ante 10K

Shortly after losing the flip against Villanueva, Tolentino jammed his 22 big blind stack against Segismundo’s open with {ah}{8c}. Villanueva from the small blind, woke up with {ad}{ks} and Segismundo found a fold showing pocket Sevens. The board ran {10d}{4c}{8d}{kc}{2c} and Villanueva took down the pot with top pair. Tolentino exits in 4th place and takes home Php 339,804 + Satty for his deep run. Villanueva now sits with the chip lead at 3.7m.

A huge open to 250k from Tolentino, Renato Villanueva Jr. jammed all in for 1.031m total with {ah}{qs}. Tolemntino called with {3h}{3s} and instantly scrambled for outs as the flop revealed {9h}{qh}{10h}. No help came on the turn {qc} and river {5d} for Tolentino and Villanueva doubles up to slightly above 2m in chips.

 

18:41: ICM deal

Level 29: 30K-60K ante 10K

The four remaining players have agreed to an ICM deal with Php 30,000 set aside for the champion. The two APC seats still remain to be claimed by the top two placers.

18:30: Eman Segismundo battles through short stack

Against aggressive opponent Julian Tolentino, Segismundo opened to 130k from the small blind and Tolentino answered with a call. The flop revealed {ac}{6d}{kc} and Segismundo led out a bet of 100k. Tolentino called and both players saw a turn of {9s}. Segismundo fired a bigger bet of 240k, Tolentino folded and Segismundo added 290k to his stack.

Level 28: 25K-50K ante 5K

Following another 140k open from chip leader Julian Tolentino, Michael De Leon right after shoved all-in for 613k in total and was cold-called by Maxwell Rosete from the small blind. Tolentino opted for a fold and De Leon revealed {ad}{jc}, a tough spot against Rosete’s {ah}{as}. The board ran {3d}{7h}{jd}{qs}{6s}, giving Rosete a boost to 2.6m in chips and leaving De Leon to exit in 5th place.

Level 28: 25K-50K ante 5K

With the shortest stack among the last five players, Villanueva slammed his remaining nine big blinds in the small blind and was called by Maxwell Rosete in the small blind. The board ran {4d}{2d}{5c}{4c}{9h} and Villanueva doubles up with trip four’s for a 970k stack. Rosete drops down to 1.615m in chips.

17:44: Julian Tolentino lands significant chip lead

Level 28: 25K-50K ante 5K

An aggressive open to 160k from Tolentino, Maxwell Rosete completed his big blind to see a flop of {qd}{qs}{9d}. Action went check-check and a {jc} peeled on the turn. Rosete checked, Tolentino bet 160k and Rosete raised to 500k total. Tolentino called and a blank river saw Rosete with a check-fold against Tolentino’s chunky river bet. Tolentino sits with a healthy chip lead of 2.4m.

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 5K

Another big blind defense from Julian Tolentino against Renato Villanueva Jr’s 100k open, the two saw a gleaming flop of {ac}{ah}{js}. Villanueva continued with a small bet of 40k and Tolentino called. Both players checked the turn {10c}. Tolentino then led out a 250k bet when the {7d} completed the board. Villanueva called and Tolentino showed a flopped full-house {ad}{jc}, crushing his {as}{ks}. Villanueva drops down to 550k while Tolentino inches closer towards the 2m mark.

 

17:15: Maxwell Rosete sends John Clyde Tan to the rails – Php 65,000

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 5K

Clashing once again, action began with Tan opening to 90k and Rosete firing a three-bet behind to 250k. The flop {3d}{6h}{10d} saw Tan with a check and an all-in from Rosete. Tan called for an open-ended straight draw with {4c}{5c} while Rosete revealed {as}{qd}. The turn and rivered offered no help for both players and Rosete takes down the huge pot with Ace-high. Tan exits in 6th place for Php 65,000 while opponent Rosete rises to a massive chip lead of 2.7m.

 

17:10: Julian Tolentino lands trips vs Michael De Leon

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 5K

With an under the gun open from Michael De Leon, Julian Tolentino completed from the big blind and saw a flop of {9d}{jc}{qh}. Both players check and another {qd} came on the turn. Tolentino led out a 140k bet to which De Leon called. A blank {5c} showed up on the river and Tolentino fired a sizeable bet of 280k. De Leon made the call and Tolentino revealed {qs}{10d} to claim the pot with trip Queen’s.

 

17:08: Maxwell Rosete triple barrels against John Clyde Tan

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 5K

Going head to head, Tan limped on the small blind and Rosete on the big blind checked behind. The flop revealed {2d}{10d}{js} with Tan check-calling Rosete’s 40k bet. A {3c} came on the turn and Tan once again check-called Rosete’s 90k bet. On the river {5h} however, Rosete forced out a fold having shoved all-in. Rosete takes the pot and increased his stack to 1.568m.

 

16:54: John Clyde Tan claims another pot

Action began with Eman Segismundo opening from under the gun +1 to 70k and both players John Clyde Tan (sb) and Maxwell Rosete (bb) defending their blinds. The flop came {4d}{9d}{kd} with all players checking behind. Turn came {2s} and Rosete led out a 150k bet with only Segismundo finding a call. The river {3c} pushed no action and went check-check. Rosete showed winning hand {2d}{5d} for a flopped flush. Segismundo down to 930k while Rosete sits with 1.16m.

 

16:52: Jun Talosig out in 7th place – Php 50,000

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 5K

Sitting with one of the shortest stacks, Jun Talosig shoved his remaining 125k with {ks}{kd} and quickly met his demise when John Clyde Tan woke up with {ad}{ac} on the big blind. The board ran {8c}{3d}{qc}{qd}{js} and Talosig settled for a 7th place finish. Tan chipped up to 1.19m.

 

16:49: Renato Villanueva Jr. rivers set vs Julian Tolentino

Level 26: 15K-30K ante 5K

An early open from Villanueva, Tolentino defended his big blind and saw a flop of {qh}{8d}{2s}. Both players checked, the turn came {9c} and Tolentino led out a 90k bet to which Villanueva called. The river {10c} made a one-card straight with a jack yet Villanueva still found a value bet of 105k checked to him. Tolentino called and Villanueva showed {10s}{10h}, now up to 860k.

 

16:44: John Clyde Tan doubles up through Emman Segismundo

Level 26: 15K-30K ante 5K

A button vs blind battle, the flop ran {9h}{3h}{4d} and Segimundo in the big blind check-called Tan’s 60k continuation bet. The turn revealed {4s} and Segismundo once again check-called Tan’s 120k bet. A {js} completed the board and Segimundo again check-called Tan’s 240k all-in bet. Tan showed {qs}{4h} for trip four’s and a double up to 1.126m. Segismundo lost his chip lead and is down to 1.166m.

 

16:37: Federick Cruz becomes first final table casualty – Php 40,000

Level 26: 15K-30K ante 5K

Continuing through a downward spiral, Federick Cruz busted in 8th place after losing his third pot in one orbit. Down to less than ten big blinds, Cruz in the small blind took the gamble and shoved his remaining 257k preflop vs an under the gun open from Maxwell Rosete. Rosete with a snap call, had Cruz crushed in all streets and instantly drawing dead by the turn. The board ran {10h}{as}{8d}{qh}{2h} and Rosete chipped up to 1.638m after eliminating Cruz.

16:26: Federick Cruz loses another pot

Level 26: 15K-30K ante 5K

Shortly after doubling up De Leon, Cruz opened from the hijack to 70k and was answered by a three-bet from Eman Segismundo in the small blind to 208k. Cruz defended his raise but failed to find a call against Segismundo’s 211k flop bet when the board showed {jc}{8s}{3h}. Cruz down to 308k and final table chip leader Segismundo up at 1.835m.

 

16:22: Michael De Leon saved by the turn

Level 26: 15K-30K ante 5K

Just the second hand of the final table, Michael De Leon was in the brink of exiting in 8th place in the hands of Federick Cruz. Having opened 80k from the hijack, both Cruz on the button and Maxwell Rosete called behind. The flop came {2h}{ac}{8c} and action was checked to Cruz where he bet 150k. Rosete opted to fold while De Leon shoved for 384k more. Cruz called and showed {ah}{jd}, largely ahead of De Leon’s {as}{5d}. The runout however, came {5s}{9h}, securing De Leon for a lucky double up. Cruz down to 530k in chips.

Bubble time is over and Asignacion falls victim to Emman Segismundo’s {10h}{10c}. Four-handed play saw Segismundo open to 90k with Asignacion right behind who jammed his 364k stack in. Segismundo called and was up against Asignacion’s {ah}{9h}. The board ran {6s}{as}{2s}{6c}{10c}, sending Asignacion to exit in 9th place and the final table completed.

 

15:42: Maxwell Rosete scoops up 780k pot

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 40K

Beginning with a limp from Julian Tolentino under the gun, big blind Maxwell Rosete checked and both players rolled the flop of {10d}{5c}{8h}. Action went check-check and the turn {8d} saw Rosete leading out with a half pot bet of 70k. Tolentino called behind and the river came {10c}. Rosete fired a hefty bet of 250k and Tolentino tank-called only to muck his hand short after Rosete revealed a rivered-boat with {6d}{8c}.

 

15:35: Renato Villanueva Jr doubles up through Rosete

Level 27: 20K-40K ante 40K

Still bubble time to the final table with 9 players remaining. Hand for hand action has been dry with small pots moving around the felt. We finally got to see an all in with short stacked Renato Villanueva Jr three-bet shoving {10h}{10c}. He was  challenged by initial raiser Maxwell Rosete {6h}{6c}. With the board sending blanks, it was a double up for Villanueva to 346k. He will need more though if he wants to get out of the danger zone. Villanueva is currently one of the shortest stacks with under 10 BB.

14:30: Reigin Leongson eliminated in 10th place – Php 32,500
Level 25: 12K-24K ante 24K

Button player Reigin Leongson {3h}{3s} shoved his remaining 152k stack and was called by small blind Emmanuel Segismundo {ac}{10h}. The board ran {7h}{as}{4h}{jc}{ad} to end Leongson’s run in 10th place. We are down to nine players. One more bust to form the final table.

 

14:28: Renato Villanueva Jr. saved from bubbling final table

Level 25: 12K-24K ante 24K

With the pressure of the blinds increasing, Villanueva shoved all-in with {ah}{qh}during hand for hand for the final table against Maxwell Rosete’s open from the cut-off. Rosete called with {8h}{8d} and the board ran {kh}{kc}{3d}{3s}{3h} for luckily, a split pot.

 

14:18: Jun Talosig doubles up with pocket Kings

Level 24: 10K-20K ante 20K

The hand started with Eman Segismundo raising from under the gun to 50k. Jun Talosig on the big blind shoved his short stack in with premium hand {ks}{kh}. Segismundo called with underpair {8c}{8s} and the board ran giving no help to Segismundo. Talosig doubles up to 280k.

 

14:15: Julian Tolentino cripples Leonel Edejer – exits in 11th place shortly after – Php 27,500

Level 24: 10K-20K ante 20K

An open from under the gun, Tolentino triple barreled against Leonel Edejer on the button who paid all three streets. The action began with a 3x raise from Tolentino to 60k and a call from Edejer. The flop showed {jh}{5h}{2s} and Tolentino sent out an 80k bet. Following a call from Edejer, the turn came another {js}. Tolentino fired a sizeable bet of 140k and Edejer decided for another call. The river {6d} completed the board and Tolentino jammed all-in for 226k. Edejer tanked and made the call with Ace-high, crushed by Tolentino’s turned trips.

14:10: Hernan Jaybee Villa out in 12th place – Php 27,500

With less than ten big blinds, Villa jammed his 184k stack from the cut-off with {kh}{8h}. Pretty much affordable for chip leader on the big blind, Federick Cruz made the call with {js}{9c}. The flop landed Villa with top pair but the river secured Cruz the pot as well as Villa’s elimination. {8c}{6c}{3h}{2s}{9h}

 

14:04: Julian Tolentino rails Bell John Perez in 13th place – Php 27,500

Level 24: 10K-20K ante 20K

Having shoved his 220k stack in the middle with {5h}{5c}, Perez was in a flip for his survival against Julian Tolentino’s {ac}{kc}. The board quickly came in favor for Tolentino showing {ah}{ad}{6c}{10d}{9s}. Perez settles for a 13th place finish and Php 27,500 in winnings.

Kicking off an open to 50k from Michael De Leon, Rosete defended his big blind and saw a flop of {qc}{2d}{9c}. De Leon shot out a 30k bet and Rosete check-called. The turn came {10s} and Rosete once again check-called an 80k bet from De Leon. The river {2s} completed the board and Rosete lastly check-called a 50k bet, showing two-pair vs De Leon’s top pair top kicker.

13:55: Hernan Jaybee Villa snags a pot off of chip leader Cruz

On the same table, pocket Aces landed a double up for short stack Hernan Jaybee Villa with no sweat against Federick Cruz’s {ad}{qd}. The board ran {7c}{jh}{7d}{9c}{ah} for a full boat and a 274k stack for Villa.

 

13:45: Reigin Leongson cruises with Aces

A cooler with {ad}}{ks} against Leongson’s {ac}{as}, Jim Patrick Asignacion was in the losing end of the situation as the board came {kd}{5s}{10c}{3d}{8c}. Leongson chips up to 302k while Asignacion drops back to his day starting stack of roughly 530k.

 

13:42: Rasid Paitao eliminated in 14th place – Php 22,500

Level 24: 10K-20K ante 20K

Past 2020 champion Rasid Paitao lost his chance of a back-to-back win after losing a crucial race against John Clyde Tan. Another all-in preflop situation, Paitao was ahead with {ad}{qc} but the board ran {10s}{3h}{9h}{10c}{2d}, crushing his dreams of another trophy instantly. Paitao leaves with a payout of Php 22,500, missing a spot short of the next pay jump.

13:40: Emmanuel Segismundo lands a double up to reach the 1m mark

Level 23: 8K-16K ante 16K

Federick Cruz opened to 35k and was met with two callers, Hernan Jaybee Villa from the button and Eman Segismundo from the small blind. The flop revealed {3d}{8d}{5h} pushing Cruz to fire a 70k bet. Villa folded behind and Segismundo with a check-raise to 190k. Cruz called and saw {10h} for the turn. Segismundo led out a 200k bet and Cruz jammed for his remaining chips. Segismundo called and the river came {7h}, securing the 1.223m pot.

13:30: Marvin Cerbito succumbs to Federick Cruz for 15th place – Php 22,500

Level 23: 8K-16K ante 16K

A preflop jam from Cerbito for his last 137k, chip leader Cruz called behind with {8h}{8c}. Cerbito showed {kc}{10s} but failed to hit a pair when the runout came all low cards {4h}{6s}{2c}{3s}{7h}. Cruz chips up to over 1.4m.

 

13:27: George Salud exits in 16th place – Php 22,500

Level 23: 8K-16K ante 16K

Sitting with one of the shortest stacks, Salud finally shoved his remaining chips with {7s}{6h} against Julian Tolentino’s open. Tolentino called with {kd}{10d} and quickly sent Salud to the rails following a board of {ks}{6s}{as}{kc}{5c}.

 

13:25: Leonel Edejer doubles up twice

Level 23: 8K-16K ante 16K

Having ran an all-in preflop situation vs Marvin Cerbito, Edejer landed a lucky river with his {ad}{7d} on a board of {6s}{8c}{9c}{4c}{10d} against Cerbito’s {as}{ks}. Edejer rose to a stack of 205k while Cerbito dropped down to 157k.

A few hands later, Edejer found all his chips in the middle once again, this time with Hernan Jaybee Villa as the original raise. Villa called his 125k jam with {ah}{jc} but was in trouble against Edejer’s {kh}{kd}. The board ran {10c}{7c}{jd}{4h}{6s} and was of no help to Villa. Edejer doubled up for a second time and is now at 364k.

 

13:20: Maxwell Rosete takes down pot with no showdown

Level 23: 8K-16K ante 16K

Beginning with a 40k open from Bell John Perez, Rosete three-bet to 120k which was met with a cold call from small blind John Clyde Tan, leaving Perez out of the pot. The flop came {10c}{qs}{2s} with Rosete firing a continuation bet of 40k. Tan called and the turn revealed {4c}. Rosete shoved all-in for 247k and Tan tanked and found a fold.

 

13:10: Reigin Leongson doubles up

Leongson shoved all in for 88k from under the gun and was called by Eman Segismundo from the hi-jack. Leongson cruised his way to a full double up having hit top pair right on the flop. The board ran {ks}{jc}{10h}{3d}{3s} giving Leongson the 218k pot.
