Metro presents the Philippine Poker Tournament featuring over Php 2 Million in guarantees; Pre-Event starts today

The Metro Card Club, the most popular card room in the Philippines, is gearing up for another homegrown event. Hitting the felt this week is the Philippine Poker Tournament (PPT) featuring a juicy Php 2,000,000 (~US$ 38,000) guarantee. The event takes place from May 11 to 16 with four starting days to enter. Buy in is Php 5,500 (~US$ 105).

The last time the Metro hosted this event was in 2020 with a big crowd of 515 packing the room. Rasid Paitao claimed the title for his first ever live victory. The year prior, it was also a first live tournament win for Gideon Galpo who overcame the 487 entry field. The next champion could be you. Come on over and claim the trophy!

All Day 1 heats will run a total of 14 levels with blinds increasing every 30 minutes. Starting stack is 15,000. Multiple re-entry is allowed but only the biggest stack advances. Cards in the air at 3pm. Registration closes daily at the start of Level 10, which is at exactly 830pm. Here’s a look at the Day 1 structure.

Players that advance to Day 2 will play out another 13 levels or down to the final two tables, whichever is reached first. Day 2 is on Sunday, May 15 starting at  1pm. Once the final two tables is reached, players will pause and resume on the final day Monday, May 16. The blinds will increase every 40 minutes.

Pre-Event 250K guaranteed

To whet your appetite, the PPT kicks off with a Pre-Event 250K guaranteed on Tuesday, May 10. Buy in is Php 2,750 with 1 add-on allowed. This is a great way to pad up your bankroll.

Other side events

In addition to the above-mentioned events are two side games to conquer. On Sunday, May 15 is the Mixed Holdém / Omaha with buy in of Php 1,700. For those that miss the mark in Day 2, this is a perfect event to jump into rather than hang in the rails. Starting stack is 20,000. Cards in the air at 5pm.

To close out the festival, on Monday, May 16 is the NLH 100k guaranteed with buy in at Php 1,100. This is your last chance to display your skills and walk away with the final trophy on the table.
