For the first-time ever, the Metro Card Club brings you the PHP 2 Million Batang Metro Poker Challenge! The event takes place from August  21 to 26 at the Metro main hub in Pasig City, Philippines. For those new to the Metro, it is the most popular long-standing brick and mortar poker room in the country. What once started as a bi-level room with less than ten tables transformed to one of the largest card rooms in Asia. Majority of the country’s elite tournament players got their start at the Metro, pros such as two-time APT Philippines Main Event champion Lester Edoc, recent APPT Manila Main Event champion Florencio Campomanes, and WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama.

Once again it is time to create a Metro champion. The inaugural BMPC 2M (US$ 38,200) gtd event gets underway tomorrow, we’ve got all the details for you below but first, the Metro would like to invite everyone to the BMPC Pre-Event NLHE Turbo PHP 150K (~US$ 2,900) guaranteed.

NLHE Turbo – PHP 150K Guaranteed 

Come on over and win the first trophy of the BMPC. The NLHE Turbo PHP 150K guaranteed Pre-Event sets sail at 6pm today with buy-in at PHP 1,300 + PHP 200 entry fee (~US$ 30). This is a one day (or shall we say “night) tournament with one add-on available at a specific time. Players also have the options of re-buying and re-entering. See “Notes” below on all those details.

Buy-in: PHP 1,500
Re-entry: PHP 1,500
Re-buy / Add-on: PHP 1,300

Starting stack: 10,000
Level duration: 20 minutes then speeds up to 15 minutes once registration closes

Notes:

  • Player can re-buy once his/her chips reaches starting stack or below but only between level 1 to 8
  • Re-buy players keep the same seats; Re-entry players are assigned a new seat
  • Registration is available until the end of Level 8
  • Players can Add-on during the scheduled break between Level 8 and Level 9
  • Cost of Add-on is P1,300; players receive 15,000 chips
  • Big blind ante format will be utilized. Once the tournament reaches the final table (10 players), it switches to regular ante (See structure below)

Batang Metro Poker Challenge PHP 2M GTD 

After getting some pre-event practice, it’s time to bring those skills to the ultimate test. The BMPC PHP 2 Million guaranteed Main Event is the tournament to win. To enter, hop on in on any of the four starting days:

Day 1A: Wednesday, August 21 at 3pm
Day 1B: Thursday, August 22 at 3pm
Day 1C: Friday, August 23 at 3pm
Day 1D: Saturday, August 24 at 3pm

This is a multiple re-entry tournament. Day 1 heats play until the end of Level 15. For players that advance, Day 2 is on Sunday, August 25 at 1pm. Attempting for multiple stacks is allowed however only the best stack advances. Day 2 plays down to the final two tables. The Final Day is on Monday, August 26, and it also gets underway at 1pm.

Buy-in: PHP 4,500
Starting stack: 15,000
Registration / Re-entry: closes at the start of Level 10

Level duration: 30 minutes until final two tables
Final two tables level duration: 40 minutes until the final table
Final table level duration: 60 minutes

Blinds format: Big Blind Ante until the final two tables

*Top 15 players win a seat to RVS Cup Main Event worth PHP 11,000. RVS Cup is the Metro’s biggest annual event. It takes place from November 13 to 18, 2019.

Mixed Game NLHE /PLO: August 24 – Buyin is PHP 1,500 – starts at 8pm
Bounty: August 25 – Buyin is PHP 1,700 – starts at 7pm
Deep Stack Turbo: August 26 – Buyin is PHP 1,700 – starts at 6pm
