Explosive MWAM Main Event Draws 1,253 Entries for Record ₱6.4M Prize Pool!

The Metro Walk To A Million has done it again – a new MWAM Main Event record prize pool!

After an explosive final two flights that delivered 519 entries, it pushed the cumulative total to 1,253 across all flights. With buy-in at ₱6,000, it edged past the 2024 numbers, setting a new prize pool record of ₱6,435,408. Out of that pie, the eventual champion is guaranteed to ship ₱948,408 plus a seat to the Gods of Poker Manila Pandora’s Mystery Bounty event worth ₱33,000.

When the 173 players return, they will see the blinds roll back to 2,000-5,000 ante 5,000. This is good news for the short stacks who will now have a bit more maneuverability and time to pick their spots. The goal of Day 2 is to play down to 18 players or a max of 15 levels, whichever is first reached.

MWAM MAIN EVENT – FLIGHT E/F RECAP

Flight E emerged as the largest of all the flights with 308 entries. By the time the bubble burst, the 44 remaining players included many notables such as the newly crowned Gods of Poker Arena Event champion Wenwu Zhou and 2025 Batang Metro champion Benhur Ybarsabal.

Earning the flight leader status was Hernan Jaybee Villa who closed the heat with 413,000 (68 big blinds). One big blind behind was Niroshan Loganathan with 406,000 (67 big blinds).

At Flight F, the last flight to enter, 211 gave it their all with 30 players earning the final slots into Day 2. Emerging out of the heap was Philippine circuit regular, Zhiqiang Liu, with an enormous 684,000 stack (68 big blinds), to be the only player to steal the top spot from Oliver Lirio in the Day 2 leaderboard. Another notable making the final cut was Pre-Event champion Michael ‘Lakay’ De Leon with a healthy 320,000 stack.
