2026 MSE Main Event Closes At ₱8.94M Prize Pool; 127 Players Head To Day 2

The last two flights of the 2026 Metro Summer Event Main Event  wrapped up with a thunder of 602 entries pulling up seats  in pursuit of a spot at Day 2. With buy-in at 11,000, the final tally was 894 entries and the prize pool a guarantee-crushing ₱8.94 Million.

The 127 Day 2 survivors will be led in by Hanchul Choi who topped Day 1A with 500,000 (83 bb). At his heels is Flight D leader Marc Baysa, and in fourth rank was Flight E leader James Moriles with 483,000 (80 bb).

Recapping the final two flights, it was wall-to-wall action at Day 1D with 278 entries. This was the largest flight turnout. By the time the bubble burst,  39 powered through. Among the survivors were Vamerdino Magsakay, Moses Saquing, Maxwell Rosete, Christopher Chua, and second ranked MTLB Jhun Aballa.

Over at Day 1E, it was also a booming turnout of 167 entries with only 24 moving on. Joining flight leader Moriles were Anthony Castro, Richard Marquez, Po-Hsun Liao, Jason Kyle Magbanua, John Costiniano, and John Tech. 

Day 2 resumes at 1pm on Sunday, April 19 with the goal of reaching the final two tables. Blinds open at 3K-6K ante 6K.

MINI HIGH ROLLER 500K GTD

Over the years, Metro has become a hub for players to develop into some of the most competitive in Asia and many have already been spotted since the start of the festival. To test your skills, the Mini High Roller, is the way to go featuring a ₱500,000 guarantee.

With a ₱16,500 buy-in, players start with 100,000 in chips, equivalent to a deep 200 big blinds at the opening level. For those that max late reg, you enter with a decent 20 bb.

2026 METRO TOURNAMENT LEADERBOARD

Once again, the race for Metro Player of the Year takes center stage. Last season, Marlon Laxamana topped the leaderboard to claim the Metro Tourney Most Valuable Player title, earning himself a one-year contract as a Metro Team Pro.

This year’s Metro MVP race kicked off on March 25 and runs through December 20, 2026. Players can continue to earn points at the MSE 2026 festival.
