Metro Christmas Special Kicks Off As Main Event Lights Up Tomorrow

The Metro Christmas Special is getting ready to unwrap as the holiday rush shifts from the malls to the felt! Starting today, the Metro Card Club closes another fantastic season with a year-end tradition festival.

Now on its third consecutive run, the 2025 MCS brings a combined ₱5.7 Million in guarantees across a full week of action from December 9 to 15. The Pre-Event 200K GTD opens the festivities at 3PM with a friendly ₱3,000 buy-in. This is a one-day warm-up designed to get everyone in gear for the Main Event, which takes center stage tomorrow.

MCS Pre-Event – Structure

And the holiday treats don’t stop there. While the Pre-Event plays out, players can chase a Main Event seat at a fraction of the cost with the first of two satellites scheduled for 7PM tonight. This special Milestone Satellite keeps spirits bright as players need only to accumulate 50K chips, and are instantly awarded a seat. Buy-in is just ₱2,400. Starting stack is 10,000.

The second satellite is on December 12 at 7pm.

2025 Metro Christmas Special Main Event

After today’s warm-up action, the MCS Main Event takes the stage tomorrow, bringing with it a dazzling ₱5,000,000 guarantee. To ensure that no one misses out on this year-end celebration, a total of five starting flights have been scheduled. To enter, buy in is ₱11,000.

• Day 1A: December 10, 2025
• Day 1B: December 11, 2025
• Day 1C: December 12, 2025
• Day 1D/1E: December 13, 2025
• Day 2: December 14, 2025
• Final Day: December 15, 2025

Players start with a 25,000 stack which is 250 times the opening blinds. The first four flights will see blinds increase every 30 minutes while Day 1E is a turbo with blinds increasing every 20 minutes. The turbo flight is the last chance for players to enter and is tailor-made for evening flyers and weekend warriors.

Looking back at the first MCS in 2023, Emmanuel Segismundo (pictured above) overcame the 336 field and a star-studded final table to be crowned the event’s inaugural champion. The win awarded him an early holiday bonus in the amount of ₱1,148,061 (~$37,500).

In the following year, young gun Rene Mar “Revo” David followed in his footsteps, outlasting a field of 580 runners to capture his first ever Metro title at the Metro Christmas Special 2024 and a cool ₱1,000,000.

Who will become Santa’s next favorite and run off with the holiday title and a sleigh of cash? The games are about to begin and the title is wide open.

2025 Metro Player of the Year Title

The 2025 MCS also serves as the last window for players to boost their Metro Player of the Year points. Last year, the inaugural Metro POY title was awarded to Lemmor Patulot.

Finishing 9th in the leaderboard rankings, Patulot earned a spot in the Top 10 TLB Final Table showdown, He went on to sweep it to win the first ever Metro POY title. His victory not only came with a cash prize, Patulot was also honored with a one-year contract as a Metro Team Pro.

As of November 30, Marlon Laxamana has maintained the top spot with 27,768.16 points. If he holds position to the end of the season, he will win this year’s Metro VIP title.  For the Metro POY title, keep in mind that only the top 10 in the leaderboard will qualify for the final table showdown where the champion will earn the ultimate crown and secure a one-year contract as a Metro Team Pro.
