03 Oct 2025 Batang Metro: Thomas Lim Bags The Biggest At Main Event Day 1B
Day 1B of the Metro Card Club’s Batang Metro Poker Challenge Main Event brought in 55 entries, pushing the overall count to 199 with Day 1A attracting 144 entries. While the turnout was leaner than anticipated, it meant tremendous value for those who jumped in – softer tables, more room to maneuver, and stronger chances of locking up a piece of the prize pool as the chase for the title continues. The heat ended when the final 8 ITM was reached.
Emerging as the flight’s top performer was another newcomer to the Metro spotlight, Thomas Ty Lim, who bagged up 427,000. This currently places him right under Day 1A leader Albien Pedrosa’s 586,000 stack.
Also advancing were several familiar names looking to make an impact on the Metro stage, including Marlon Laxamana (285,000), Tobias Fabech (102,000), Joris Michl (74,000), and Joseph Magnotti (53,000).
DAY 1B Survivors List

If you are just hearing of this event, the BMPC was first introduced in 2019 with the first two editions claimed by American pro John Francis King and local pro Lester Edoc. In 2023, local aspirant Marvin Cerbito won it for his first major Metro title followed by Mark Jerick Almusajin in 2024. Envied by all, Almusajin flipped his ₱15K buy-in into a jaw dropping ₱1.53 Million payday.
The series is now in search of its next breakout champion and it could be you!
