The Heat Is On! Metro Summer Event Opens Today With The Pre-Event 700K

Summer poker action kicks off at the Metro Card Club as the 8th Metro Summer Event heats up the felt starting at 2pm today! This annual poker festival has been pulling in big crowds since its inception in 2016 and is expected to do so again with its PHP 6 Million guaranteed Main Event.

Last year, the numbers were completely shattered, with the prize pool soaring to PHP 9.12 Million (~US$ 161K). Korea’s Jae Chang (pictured below) shipped it for payout deal of PHP 1,468,036. All signs point to another record-breaker as players from across the country converge for one of Metro’s highlights of the year.

But before the main attraction rolls in, players can get prepped at the Pre-Event where a substantial PHP 700,000 Pre-Event guarantee is on the table. Running from May 16-18, 2025 a total of four flights are scheduled with buy-in at just PHP 3,000.

After the opener, there are several side events to conquer leading up to the Main Event such as the Mixed Game NLH/PLO, Super Stack, and Bounty. More fun games follow after the main such as the NLH Turbo, Power Button, and the more serious PLO Highroller and Mini Main.
