25 Apr James Moriles Bags The Lead At PPT Main Event Day 1B; Jed-Jay Javier Wins Power Button
The heat is on! The Metro Card Club’s Philippine Poker Tournament – PPT Main Event concluded on Flight B adding 118 entries to bring the current total to 279 entries with four more flights available. By the time the bubble burst, it was James Moriles (pictured below) at the top of the counts with a stack of 302,000.
This puts Moriles ranked 4th in the cumulative Day 2 qualifier list with 40 players through and each already guaranteed a portion of the ₱4 Million (~US$ 71,000) prize pool. Moriles is still hunting down his first Metro title, having come close at the Metro Christmas Special with a final table finish.
Also sneaking into the money round were notables Pre-Event champion Eugenio Bestil though with a short stack of 46,000, Marvin Cerbito, and Euryd Rivera.
Currently, Flight A leader Lemmor Patulot is still the player to catch with 466,000 in chips. Running second is defending champion Alexander Lai, and Moises Saquing at third position.
For those that have yet to survive the flights, or are just making their way to the venue, there are four flights remaining. This is a great way to turn a small ₱6,500 buy-in into a possible seven figure payout as was done by the defending champion, Lai, last year. The next big winner could be you!
At the time of posting, Flight C was underway with registration still open until 4:30pm. If that doesn’t work out, Flight D kicks off at 7pm. This has a turbo structure with blinds increasing every 20 minutes. Only the top 14% of the field will secure a spot at ITM.
Jed-Jay Javier Wins Power Button
