14 Oct Lester Edoc Leads Final 18 Of APT Challenge; Starts At 2PM
From a field of 599 entries that saw 86 players reach ITM, the APT Challenge is now down to the Final 18 players! Leading in the pack is one of the Philippines’ top players, Lester Edoc (pictured below), with a stack of 2,245,000 (74 bb). Not only is Edoc a multi-decorated Metro champion, he is also one of the most decorated APT players with a double Main Event title under his belt. He will be the player to overcome entering the Final Day.
In addition to Edoc, APT decorated champions Renniel Galvez and Czardy Rivera also powered through, along with Mystery Bounty champion Moises Esparagoza and recently crowned Batang Metro champion, Mark Jerick Almusajin.

When the final 18 return to the Metro Card Club on Monday, October 14, 2024, they are all guaranteed a minimum payout of PHP 47,500 however the target will of course be the PHP 900,000 (~US$ 15,725) champion’s purse. The top three finishers will also receive a seat worth PHP 85K to the APT Manila Main Event 100M GTD (~US$ 1.7M).

The APT Challenge 5M GTD kicked off on October 9 with six entry flights across four days attracting 599 entries. With buy in at PHP 10,000 (~US$ 175), it breached the guarantee for a prize pool of PHP 5,450,900 (~US$ 92,245).

In collaboration with the Asian Poker Tour, the APT Challenge has already awarded two seats to the upcoming APT Manila Main Event. The first ticket was won by Marc Rivera at the APT Challenge Opener and the second ticket awarded to James Moriles for his triumph at the Single Day High Roller.
The Single Day High Roller had 55 runners pony up the PHP 15,500 buy in for a prize pool of PHP 825,000. The top eight players earned a cut with Moriles earning the largest worth PHP 205,500.
