09 Nov Get fired up for RVS Cup 2023 at the Pre-Event 1M guaranteed – November 10 to 12
Get ready for the much-anticipated RVS Cup 2023! In less than a week, the highly anticipated homegrown Metro Card Club event will kick off. To ignite that competitive fire, a Pre-Event featuring a ₱1 million prize pool is here to get players warmed up.
Last year, the Pre-Event drew its largest crowd of 499 entries to crush the ₱600K guarantee for a closing prize pool of over ₱1.1 Million. Local player Reynaldo Osete came out on top for a payout of ₱287,000.
This year, the festival starter is certain to draw an even larger crowd with the guarantee increased to ₱1 Million. The Pre-Event runs from November 10 to 12. Three entry flights are offered – Day 1A, Day 1B, Day 1C (turbo). Players can fork out the ₱3,500 (~$63) buy in as many times as they’d like but only the best stack advances. Day 2 / Final Day is on November 12.
Following the Pre-Event are three side events – Mixed NLHE / PLO (November 12), Mystery Bounty ₱300K guaranteed (November 13 to 13), Ladies Event (November 14). Starting stack is 20,000. Blinds increase every 20 minutes.
Attending all of these above-mentioned events are highly recommended in order to earn points towards the RVS Cup Player of the Series. The player that accrues the highest number of points by the end of the festival will win a package to the gorgeous island of Boracay. Package includes 4 Day / 3 Night stay at The District Boracay plus airfare allowance.
The RVS CUP Philippine Poker Championship gets underway on November 15 and will run through November 20. This is the most highly awaited annual event by the locals and expectedly so as the prize pool balloons every year. The largest was in 2022 with the pot increasing to over ₱7.4 Million. Now in its 9th year, it will no doubt be the richest with the guarantee boosted to a generous ₱10 Million. Buy in is ₱16,500.
Among the players certain to attend is defending champion Vamerdino Magsakay who collected a ₱1.6 Million payout deal for his victory. Other winners to expect are past champions Lester Edoc, Richard Marquez, Anacleto Quijano, Marco Almerez, Jeffrey Calma, and Christopher Chua.
