One week away from Batang Metro Poker Challenge PHP 5 Million guaranteed – August 16 to 21 at Metro Card Club

Greetings pokerheads! In just one week’s time, the Metro Card Club brings you its next big event of the year, the Batang Metro Poker Challenge (BMPC)! Scheduled to run from August 16 to 21, 2023, the six-day event boasts a PHP 5,000,000 guarantee which is a whopping PHP 2 Million more than previous.

To get in on this pot, players have ample chances to qualify with five flights offered leading up to Day 2. Each flight bags at ITM of 12% of the field. For this edition, the buy in has been bumped up to PHP 10,000 (PHP 9,100 + 900 entry fee).

The BMPC is one the younger events in the Metro calendar yet it stands out on its own. Literally defined as “Child of Metro”, the title is of special significance. Through the years, the Metro has produced world class players that have gone on to inspire other locals. One of the most well known is Mike Takayama, the first homegrown Metro talent to win a World Series of Poker bracelet.

Since its inception, the BMPC has crowned two winners, USA’s John Francis King  in 2019 for PHP 540,863 and Lester Edoc (pictured above) in 2022 for PHP 1,124,920. The next champion could be YOU!

Batang Metro Poker Challenge – Schedule

Before the BMPC PHP 5M guaranteed hits the felt, players can warm up at the Pre-Event which runs August 14 to 15 with two flights on opening day. The event guarantees PHP 500,000, buy in is PHP 3,500. Players that sign up to Flight A will see blinds increase every 30 minutes, for Flight B, it speeds up to 20 minutes.
