Metro Walk To A Million 3M opens tomorrow with Pre-Event 200K GTD! – June 13 to 19 at Metro Card Club

Are you ready to be the next Metro Card Club champion? Ready or not, the Metro Walk To A Million is just one day away running from June 13 to 19, 2023.

Now in its third season, the MWAM is a poker event not to be missed. If you haven’t yet heard, the event is richer than ever featuring a PHP 3,000,000 guarantee, which is one million pesos more than previous. And there’s more! This year’s buy in has been lowered, so time to turn that lowly PHP 3,500 into a Metro title!

For those new to the Metro, it is the longest standing card room in the Philippines. Many of today’s most famous and decorated players got their start here such as WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama, poker pro Lester Edoc, and recently minted Manila Super Series 17 champion William Ysmael. You can expect to see these players and other country’s finest at the tables, each one hoping to join Mark Amparo (2019) and Jason Kyle Magbanua (2022) in the exclusive MWAM champions list.

Before the multi million prize pool event gets underway players can get in some early practice at the Pre-Event PHP 200,000 guaranteed which takes place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Buy in is PHP 2,500 with unlimited re-entries and re-buys allowed until the end of Level 10. This will be a fast one with blinds increasing every 20 minutes. Starting stack is 12,000. Players interested in rebuying must have 12,000 in chips or below to rebuy. Rebuy is PHP 2,300.

MWAM Satellites

Players can also try to get in the MWAM 3M for cheap via the satellites. Ongoing until June 17 are Flipout One-Hand Satellites at just PHP 350. One seat will be awarded per ten entries. There is also a MWAM Satellite on June 13 at 7pm. Buy in is PHP 770. One seat for every 5 entries in the pool.

Following the Pre-Event is the much awaited MWAM PHP 3,000,000 guarantee. As stated above, this has been boosted by a million from last edition. There are four Day 1 Regular heats (30 minute blinds) plus two Day 1 Turbo flights (20 minute blinds), giving players plenty of chances to try to reach the money round. Each Day 1 plays down to ITM of 12 % of the field.

MWAM structure

For players that advance to Day 2, each one is guaranteed a piece of the prize pool. Day 2 is on Sunday June 18, it plays down to the final two tables or play 13 levels, whichever is first reached.

On the final day, Monday, June 19, the final 2 tables will see a redraw and blinds will increase every 40 minutes. This will be the time interval for the rest of the event. One change in the ante, once the final table is reached, players will post regular ante.
