Philippine Poker Tournament final wrap; Federick Cruz and Alexis Lim win side events

The weeklong Philippine Poker Tournament is done and dusted with Jharome Pena crowned champion. The Metro Card Club homegrown festival opened on January 17 and wrapped up on January 23. The last two side events went to Federick Cruz and Alexis Lim.

The next event to look forward to is the Metro Summer Event featuring a Php 3.5 Million guarantee. Main Event buy in is Php 7,000. It runs from April 19 to 24. Make sure to mark down the dates!

FEDERICK CRUZ slays the Big Bounty

Last year, Federick Cruz stunned the Philippine live scene with nine final tables of which four were victories. Returning to the felt to take on the PPT, Cruz continued where he left off, adding another title to his belt. He outlasted the competition at the PPT Big Bounty side event to collect the Php 51,400 first prize plus an unreported amount in bounty rewards.

ALEXIS LIM wins the NLHE 100K GTD

The last PPT side event was the NLHE featuring a Php 100K guarantee. With 139 turning up, it more than doubled the pot to Php 208,500 (~$3,830). The top 17 got paid. It wrapped up on a five-way ICM deal with Alexis Lim granted the largest prize money of Php 44,104 (~$810).
