02 Jul Rey Osete takes command of Metro 2M GTD Day 1C; Florencio Campomanes, Marco Almerez, Federick Cruz advance; one day left to enter
Friday at the Metro Card Club saw a larger crowd take on the Metro Walk To A Million 2M Guaranteed with 152 pulling up seats at Day 1C. Among the players muscling the felt were decorated Filipino pro Florencio Campomanes, 2019 RVS Cup champion Marco Almerez, and local player Federick Cruz who has made it a habit of being in the headlines for his consistent deep runs. All three survived with Cruz bagging up the day’s second largest stack. Up top was Rey Osete with a commanding stack of 85 BB. This put Osete second in the overall Day 2 qualifiers list. Day 1B chip leader Jessie Trance maintained his lead of 108 BB.
The combined Day 2 list has grown to 55 players. They await the results of the final starter, Day 1D, before returning to the felt on Sunday, July 3 at 1pm.

The event has now drawn a combined 357 entries. Only 401 total entries is needed to breach the guarantee, and with Day 1D yet to be played, there is no doubt that the event will crush the advertised Php 2 Million guarantee. In turn, it also means that the top prize will be much larger.
For those that haven’t qualified yet, last chance to join the action is on Saturday, July 2. Players can also attempt for multiple stacks however only the largest stack will carry through. Cards in the air at 3pm. Players start with 15,000 stack, Day 1D blinds open at 50-100 with levels increasing every 30 minutes. For late comers, registration closes at the start of Level 10, which is roughly at 7:50pm.
