Metro Summer Event Php 1.5 Million guaranteed starts today! Rommel Angeles wins the Pre-Event

Welcome players to the Metro Summer Event! The annual festival runs from today April 20 until April 25 at none other than the Metro Card Club, the biggest and most popular card room in the Philippines. On its fifth installment, the series serves up a Php 1,500,000  (~US$ 28,840) guarantee. Through the years, the event has consistently exceeded its goal with champions turning their small buy-ins into substantial six figures. Games get underway at 3pm. Come on over and become the next MSE champion!!

To get in on the pot, players have four starting days to choose from. Multiple re-entry is allowed however only the best stack moves forward. We suggest getting on the felt early to start off  with 150 BB stack. Blinds increase every 30 minutes, registration closes at 8pm daily.

For players that survive Day 1, play resumes starting at Level 16 on Sunday, April 24. See structure below. Cards in the air at 12pm. This is followed by the Final Day on Monday, April 25 at 12pm. Last night, the MSE Pre-Event Php 250K guaranteed attracted 149 total entries (83 unique, 22 re-entry, 29 add-on) at Php 3K buy in for a smashing start of Php 372,500 (~US$ 7,100) prize pool. Filipino pro Rommel Angeles emerged victorious for Php 99,875 in cash and was also awarded a seat to the featured MSE.

Angeles is a well known local pro in the Philippines with multiple career titles under his belt. This was his second at the Metro with a maiden victory at the 2018 Metro 2M guaranteed. Angeles has accrued nearly US$ 140K in personal live tournament earnings, all in his home country.
