21 Aug BMPC 2M GTD: Day 1A draws a huge 171 entries; 25 survive with Deepa Pradhan leading; Day 1B up next at 3pm; Emmanuel Segismundo wins the 150K GTD
It was a rockin’ day at the Metro Card Club with players pouring in all day for the 2M Guaranteed Batang Metro Poker Challenge. The inaugural event drew a huge 171 entries (137 uniques, 34 re-entries) on the first heat with 25 hanging on at the end of the scheduled 15 rounds of play. Among the survivors were Metro players such as John Clyde Tan, Rodrigo Sequite, Elmer Kalaquian, and Ronald Singson however their stacks were far below the heat’s closing chip leader, Deepa Pradhan, who bagged 275,600. To break that down by starting stacks, it was equivalent to 18 starting stacks gobbled up.
Deepa Pradhan is a new face in the Metro high chair. With no prior live tournament history recorded, she is certainly one to keep a close watch on in Day 2. Pradhan sets the benchmark for the incoming heat. Just as impressive was second ranked Leopoldo Capule with 253,900 in chips. Capule was the only other player in the 200K range with Pradhan.
