23 May GET READY FOR THE METRO CARD CLUB SUMMER EVENT 3 MILLION GTD; RENALDO ORETE WINS THE 500K EVENT
The Metro Card Club Summer Event is about to sizzle even more with the highly anticipated P3 Million Guaranteed Main Event up next. The MSE festival kicked off on April 5 with several events on tap leading up to the star of the show. Last night, the P500K Guaranteed concluded with Renaldo Orete topping the competition to pocket the P235,000 first prize. Below are the results plus all the info you need to know on the upcoming Main Event.
Main Event
The P3 Million guaranteed Main Event rolls in on Wednesday, April 10 and will run a course of six days to conclude on Monday, April 15. As always, there are plenty of days to join the action with four starting flights lined up. Buy-in is P6,500 (~US$125) with multiple re-entries allowed.
Day 1A: Wednesday, April 10
Day 1B: Thursday, April 11
Day 1C: Friday, April 12
Day 1D: Saturday, April 13
Day 2: Sunday, April 14 @1pm
Final Day: Monday, April 15 @1pm
All starting days begin at 3pm. Players start with a 15,000 stack, blinds increase every 30 minutes. Blinds duration will lengthen to 40 minutes during the final two tables, then to 60 minutes at the final table. Players will be allowed to attempt for multiple stacks however only the best stack will move forward.
Last year, this same event surpassed the guarantee to nearly P3.3M with 599 entries dragged in. Joseph Sia was awarded the win with Euryd Rivera as runner-up.
Renaldo Orete wins the 500K opener
The P500K Guaranteed MSE opening event had a very strong turnout. It drew a large 417 entries, and with the buy-in at P2,200, it drove the prize pool to a juicy P834,000. 42 players earned a cut. The final table included top local pro Lester Edoc and other strong local contenders Jannodin Riga and John Clyde Tan.
However, the title was not theirs to capture. Edoc ran the furthest finishing in 4th place. Claiming it was Renaldo Orete for P235,000. This was Orete’s first known live tournament win. Impressively, Orete entered the final day as chip leader and proceeded to close it out as champion.
The Metro would also like to congratulate Ardrean Dela Pena for his victory at the Newcomers Freeroll and Kevin Dos Santos for winning the P30K Guaranteed event.
