07 Dec Metro Card Club Christmas Special ₱5M guaranteed starts today! – December 7 to 12 – Stephen Nathan leads Pre-Event final 44 players
Close out the year with the Metro Card Club Christmas Special! The six day event gets underway today, Wednesday December 7 and runs through December 12. This is the club’s last homegrown event of the year and it comes loaded with a generous ₱5,000,000 (~$89,480) guarantee. To enter, players can choose from any of the three starting days. Buy in is ₱16,500 (~$295). Unlimited re-entries and multiple stacks are allowed. Come on over! This is your last chance to be crowned champion at the Metro for 2022!
Day 1 structure
Players start with a 50,000 stack. Blinds increase every 40 minutes until the final table is reached. Final table players will see blinds increase every 60 minutes with regular ante posted by each player. The final table will also be streamed live in the Metro Card Club facebook page.
STEPHEN NATHAN bags the lead at Pre-Event ₱300K GTD
The Christmas Special kicked off with a Pre-Event featuring a ₱300,000 guarantee. Two flights were offered with Flight A drawing 124 runners and Flight B pulling in 86 entries. With a combined 210 entries, the guarantee was crushed for a richer prize pool of ₱525,000. Jayme Dela Cruz closed out the first flight as chip leader with 66 BB however it was Flight B leader Stephen Nathan earning the overall top spot with 71 BB. A total of 44 players will return on Wednesday, December 7 for the race to victory and the first title of the holiday series.
